How do we choose the right dishwasher?
It’s the dishwasher that saves us from a not-so-pleasant kitchen activity. However, few people choose to install it, and even fewer use it. There are at least three reasons why this machine should be in every kitchen: it uses less water, cleans better and saves time! Next we’ll explain what you need to consider when choosing your dishwasher.
There are a few important features you need to know before buying a washing machine.
- The model! Here we refer to the classic or built-in model. Classic washing machines are free-standing pieces of furniture and need a separate space. It can then be easily moved to where it is most convenient for you. There are also built-in models. These are fully integrated into the furniture and are a good choice when making bespoke furniture. But be careful, you need to know the exact dimensions of the machine you will choose – height, width and depth.
- Capacity! It is important to choose a dishwasher with a capacity that suits your needs. Take into account the size of your family, how often you have guests or how often you wash dishes. Typically, the capacity of the machines is between 4 and 14 sets, with a set including: a plate for the main course and two main courses, a dessert plate, a glass, a mug, a knife, a spoon, a fork and a dessert spoon. The most popular method of classification is by width: 450 or 600 mm.
- Program! Most dishwashers have between 5 and 10 programmes to suit your requirements. Even the simplest machines have programmes for light, medium and heavy washing. There are also special programmes for crystal dishwashing, steam washing, disinfecting or quick washing. The price of the machine increases with the number of programmes. The smartest models have the ability to weigh the dishes and adapt the washing time according to the volume of dishes being washed.
Important! Not all models or brands offer a towel drying function!
- Inside! This time we have to pay attention to the number of drawers and interior supports. The more drawers and racks the machine has, the more dishes you will be able to put in. Some models have a separate drawer for cutlery. However, without it, larger dishes will fit better.
Besides the fact that the dishwasher should wash perfectly, it is important to choose one that is flexible in use, economical and even quieter. There are a few more interesting details we’d like to share with you:
- The dishwasher needs the same connections as the washing machine: water supply, drainage, electricity.
- Occasionally we need to start a no-dishwash cycle with just a cup of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar. This helps remove odors, sanitize and freshen the interior. Use special dishwasher fresheners.
- More detergent does not mean a better wash. On the contrary, dishes will be left with traces of detergent on them.
- A washing machine can easily last 10-20 years. The condition is simple – knowing and following the instructions for use.
Opt for such an appliance in your kitchen and save time you could spend with your loved ones. Choose a machine that is suitable for your needs and be sure to follow the instructions in the user manual.
